Item Description
All are c. 1960s. Thin art boards range in size from 14x15.25" to 13x17" with art drawn in India ink and litho crayon with some white paint touch ups. Images include large Giants football player saying "And That's Yat!" as he rubs his hands with large broken "Cleveland" text in bkg., 1964 New Year's baby looking at open basket on doorstep containing representatives of Mets, Jets, Rangers, Knicks saying "Happy New Year!", and Red Sullivan holding up Rangers player and Harry Gallatin holding up Knicks player with both saying "It's Been A Long Season." Each is signed Pierotti at lower corner. Image areas are lightly but evenly tanned from being matted and framed and placed in sunlight, otherwise Fine/VF. Pierotti drew editorial and sports cartoons for the New York Post from 1950 to 1977 and was a charter member of the National Cartoonists Society and was President for four years. He won the Society's best editorial cartoonist award in 1975. Nice examples of his sports art.
