Item Description
From Quaker Cereal, 1952. 2x3x1.5" deep mailer has small edge of one end flap missing but overall VF. Premium is hard plastic battery operated metal detector. Marked on the dials "Zany Toys Ore Detector." Top center has foil sticker with portrait of Sgt. Preston and Yukon King plus additional foil sticker around the working compass which has the letters of the alphabet. Gauge appears at top beneath a clear plastic window. A battery is supposed to move gauge needle when unit is near metal. However, none of the half dozen we've seen worked. Still, it does display Mint as made. Scarce and with rare mailer.
