Item Description
15.75x18.25" thin art board has 13-7/8x15.25" India ink image area w/Chicago-Tribune copyright 1926 sticker at bottom. Art is titled "A Little Dry Enforcement Wanted" in ink at blank top margins and has wonderful image of drunken "Jupiter Pluvius" holding a huge pail of beer resting on barrel titled "Rain" on top of cloud which has spigot pouring liquid on man holding umbrella below in the flooded middle west as he says "Hey, Officer!" to "Officer Sunshine" policeman at upper left who is ignoring what is going on. Art is signed in ink at lower left "Orr". Blank margins have a few glue stains in corners with some dust soil and lt. moisture marks around edges just going into bottom left side corner a bit. Most of image area will mat and frame to Fine/VF appearance. Wonderful example by a top editorial cartoonist of the twentieth century who won the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning in 1961. He signed on with the Chicago Tribune in 1917 and stayed there for 46 years.
