Item Description
15.25x19.5" ornate high quality wood frame has archival mat with 6.5x10.25" opening revealing wonderful India ink drawing of Deadbone erotica character looking wistfully at nude nymph. Art is signed in ink "Vaughn Bode" at lower right and is dated in ink at lower left ©1972. Exc. Vaughn Bode (1941-1975) was a noted underground cartoonist most famous for creating "Cheech Wizard" which appeared regularly in National Lampoon magazine from 1971 to 1975. He created the Deadbone series which ran in Galaxy magazine from 1969 to 1971 and was later released as a series of books. Bode won the 1969 Hugo Award and is the father of Mark Bode. One of the nicest Vaughn Bode specialty pieces we've ever seen. Ready for display.
