Item Description
Set of 108, each 2-1/8x3-1/8" issued in 1951. Superb full color art on fronts w/text relating to that particular scene on backs. Features earthlings traveling to distant planets where they encounter outerspace life. Different beings from those planets are shown along with planetary landscapes, buildings, rocket ships, etc. Condition varies from Good to NM. Lower grades have general wear, some with creases. Higher grades have just lt. margin/corner tip wear. Our breakdown is as follows: Good 6, VG 17, VG/Exc. 27, Exc. 31, Exc./NM 10, NM 17. This set was originally planned, in 1951, as a 180-card series but the artwork for cards 109-144 was lost. Many years later the art for cards 145-180 was found and in 1980 these cards were finally printed. As a bonus, this lot includes that modern day printing of those 36 cards in Mint condition.
