Item Description
10.5x14” card stock sign with 5 different example cards mounted to it, each 3x3”. 1930s by Criss Cross Card Machines, made by Calex Mfg. Inc. Text reads “Buy The Entire Series/Educational-Entertaining." The few signs for these cards that we have offered over the years had large 1¢ price at center. This is variant w/different price of "6 For 5¢ Use Nickel Only." The cards in this series feature actual picture panels from Big Little Books which have been mounted to same size cardboard sheets. Individual cards are typically found with gas company imprint on the reverse (see Flash Gordon lot #2984). All five cards feature Mickey Mouse. Minnie and Goofy each appear on one. Sign has minor trace of corner tip wear and extremely faint crease line along left edge only noticeable upon close inspection. Appearance for display remains NM and cards are NM as mounted. In auction #201 we offered the 1¢ variant w/different cards and that sign sold for $2,000.
