Includes jersey, pants, socks and stirrups. Summers apparently neatly hand-lettered the following text in ink inside the collar: "Lonnie Summers’-3 Home-Runs And Double-Drove In Eleven Runs-Hit 2 Homers Against Pasqual-Hit 1-And Double-The 11 Runs Was Ganists (sic) Torreon Mexico 1948-The Teams Treavel (sic) Chi. A. Giants, Baltimore Elite-Negro Leagues. Team In Mexico-Mexican City Reds-Tampico. Ink has bled through to back of jersey just above number “20" otherwise uniform is clean and Exc. Summers played the infield, outfield and catcher during a career that spanned three decades. He began with the Baltimore Elite Giants in 1938 and played with the Mexican League in the 1940s. He played for the US based Minor League San Diego Padres in the early 1950s and finished his baseball career at age 40 with three games for the Yakima Bears in 1956. He is the father of Mexican League superstar Jesus Summers. From the Richard Merkin Collection and comes with Hake’s COA.
