Item Description
1930s. 11 3/8x23" wood frame with glass has 9.75x21.5" image area revealing detailed skeleton w/ comprehensive chart noting 65 different parts. Chart has two horizontal folds through center as originally mailed unframed. Display is VF as framed. Most likely issued by Eastman Kodak to promote their x-ray film to doctors and chiropractors. Chiropractic health care was founded in 1895, the same year that Professor Roentgen of Germany discovered the x-ray. Chiropractors were among the first professionals to use the x-rays for spinal study. In 1934 the first successful full body x-ray picture showing the entire skeletal system of an adult was made in cooperation with the Eastman Kodak Company. Interesting display item.
