Item Description
This is a great doll creation standing 16” tall with a marvelous three dimensional head featuring separate eyes and a massive beak so that his head from front to back is a full 7” in length. The figure does stand independently. He is missing a hat and because of this there are 2 small marks where a little glue was applied to the velveteen, one on the very top of his head and the other on the top corner of his left eye. The eyes are 3 layers of oilcloth, leatherette and felt all applied to the green velveteen. He has a wonderful curvy line accented his giant beak. He has a black bow tie and one hand holds a black fabric umbrella using a thick brown pipe cleaner as the umbrella’s handle and tip. Even the back of the doll is marvelously done with 2 blue and 1 bright orange felt die-cut feathers each with wire interiors so they can be positioned. Green areas of the velveteen have faded but really only noticeable if one lifts up the fabric jacket and sees the brighter green color where the material was not exposed to light. Extremely clean overall and in our opinion this is one of Charlotte’s masterpieces. Likely made just for Charlotte Clark's enjoyment, as we know of no other examples. Comes with notarized statement and Hake’s COA. See item #2200 for details. Unique, hand-crafted and VF.
