Item Description
15.5x22” thin cardboard poster for Feb. 20, 1972 charity burlesque performance marathon that took place at the New Follies Burlesk Theatre in Baltimore, MD. This took place on the famed “Block” of Baltimore, home to a wide selection of adult-oriented clubs. Very unusual as poster has large heart promoting “35 Exotic Dancers From The ‘Block’ Bare Their All To Help Handicapped Children.” Poster also notes “It’s Tax Deductible – Contribution $4.00 Per Person!” and “Broad-Minded Adults Only – Ladies Invited. All Proceeds To The Heart Of Variety Foundation For Handicapped Children.” Nine different buxom burlesque performers grace the margins of poster in bw photos, appearing in sequined gowns or scantily clad. A few performers appear bare-breasted though censored as printed with exception of one performer who has sneaked by unaltered. “Shout…Stomp…Whistle…They’ll Take It Off!” Two .75x1” areas of tape staining in upper corners. Lt. handling wear. Fine/VF.
