Introduction page explains "A Compilation From The History, Biography And Current Literature Of Our Century...Some Of The Anecdotes And Reminiscence Have Never Before Appeared In Print." Text includes prose and verse accompanying illustrations. A fine example is seen on the first page "The Sad Fate Of Ten Little Candidates," reminiscent of "The Ten Little Indians" ten-verse poem. Many of the anecdotes identify current (1888) and past political figures including Jackson, Lincoln and Civil War figures. A delightful read. Well done. Cover shows wear. Fine. Contents Exc.
