Item Description
Rare four-part group of promotional materials. First is 6x9" catalogue #21 from 1906 with 24 pages titled "Gems Of Art By The Parisian Novelty Co. Chicago U.S.A." Tiny 1/8" hole in cover and 2" cover spine split. First page is loose. Extensive photos of button making machines an related equipment with prices. Also illustrated pages, most with prices, for buttons and mirrors (large TR oval), oval buttons, display cases for mirrors and buttons, button parts, five pages of photos of stock designs for mirrors. A wonderful inside look at the celluloid novelty industry in 1906. Second is 9.5x10.5" illustrated flyer with prices for buttons and mirrors by Western Badge and Novelty Co. of St. Paul. Includes two 1914 letters on letterhead plus envelope holding samples with notes of 11 celluloid buttons and 1 lapel stud. Includes one choice color showing Indian maid promoting Fallon County, Montana. Small tanning. Tears and folds on the paper items. Third is "St. Louis Badge Co. Condensed Catalogue No. 29" (circa 1928) 6x9" with 32 pages. Cover is loose with small edge wear, mostly on spine. Contents are clean and extensively illustrated plus prices for buttons, "Crickets," matchboxes, pencil clips, celluloid whistles, flag pins, watch fobs, paperweights, paper clips, banners plus six pages of convention ribbon badges. Fourth is letterhead of St. Louis firm Geo. E. Benz with 1910 letter to customer soliciting a badge or button order. 7.5x8.5". Exc. Also, a 4.5x9.75" cello-covered full color ink blotter showing products by Lucke Badge & Button Co. of Baltimore. c. 1920 and includes Buster Brown Hose Supporter button. Light tan age marks scattered on left third. Two crease lines on unused blotter reverse. A rare grouping of seldom seen button industry promotional materials.
