Item Description
14.75x20" artboard has pen and ink original art for Dec. 12, 1954 Sunday by Charles "Doc" Winner (1885-1956), who took over writing/art duties from Harold Knerr upon Knerr's death in 1949. Sunday page features 10 panels (including stat title paste-over panel, which shows moderate aging/glue staining) and shows Hans and Fritz delivering the news of the King's decree that every home should have a mind control machine. Lena goes along by pranking Mama Katzenjammer, telling her what not to think. Only when told not to think she's not fat does she toss the machine at the feet of the King. Four panels have had "Thought Control Dept." text correction paste-overs placed on machine image. Winner has signed last panel. KFS copyright strip at bottom of second to last panel. Margins have some penciling and printer registration labels. Back has printer inkstamp and some tape staining w/minor surface paper lifts. Some scattered dust soiling to three rightmost panels, but o/w VF.
