Item Description
10-5/8x15.75" artboard has Bill Sienkiewicz's pen and ink (w/screentone accents) original art for page 10 of Moon Knight Vol. 1 #12, published by Marvel Oct. 1981. Artboard features three large panels, showing Moon Knight battling the dream villain Morpheus (who debuted this issue). Both Moon Knight and Morpheus appear in each panel, w/Morpheus using his dark energy (a screentone affect) to attack policemen in first panel before turning his power on Moon Knight in the last panel. Bottom panel has been signed in black felt tip pen by Sienkiewicz, who inscribed art "To Bob - Best Wishes" above his signature and monogram. Back has Marvel copyright inkstamp. Top margin has inked title, issue and page numbers w/slight trim at upper left margin corner. Caption blocks, word balloons and sound effects text are stat paste-overs, w/some glue staining at edges as applied. 1/8x.5" piece of aged tape along top edge of bottom panel, just right of center. Art o/w remains clean and Exc. A dynamic example of Sienkiewicz's art in his self-inked stylistic form from early in the comic run of a character who continues to gain in popularity.
