10.75x16" thin art boards featuring original pencil art by noted comic book artist Curt Swan (1920-1996), best known as the artist most associated w/Superman titles during the period fans and historians call the Silver Age of comic books. Offered here are eight pages (missing p. 9 & 10) of original art for Part 1 of first story in "Superman" #284, published by N.P.P. in February 1975. 100 Page Giant issue lead story was written by Cary Bates w/interior art by Curt Swan and inks by Bob Oksner. Storyline "The Secret Guardian of Smallville". Superman or Clark Kent appear on each page, Pete Ross and Lana Lang also appear in story. Antagonist in Part 1 of the story is a group of bank robbers. N.P.P. copyright stamps on back. Scattered handling wear/aging. Aged tape at top and at bottom. Each page signed by Curt Swan. VF. See next lot for Part 2 of this story.
