Item Description
13x19-1/8" artboard features pen and ink original art by Arvell Jones, inked by Tony DeZuniga (1932-2012) for All-Star Squadron #44, published by DC Comics April 1985. Cover features All-Star Squadron members Tarantula, Firebrand, Hourman and Phantom Lady confronted by villains Night and Fog (also known by their German names; Nacht and Nebel as they were German operatives during World War II). The black areas (published as dark blue) of the cover are Night's hair while the cloud surrounding the heroes is Fog's titular power. Of note, this issue featured the debut of both Night and Fog, who would not appear again until decades later in two issues of Young Justice. Cover has DC and "All-Star Squadron title/logo stat paste-over attached at top margin w/white tape. Blue pencil printer notation at lower right. Back has DC copyright and publisher inkstamps. Artboard has moderate handling wear w/creases at lower right corner. Top of artboard has 12" diagonal slice on back of artboard, which does not break through but has caused visible crease on front. Most of this is covered by title paste-over. Fine overall, but art remains clean and would make for nice framed display.
