Item Description
Pair of prototype bar signs, featuring mixed media prototype original art for sign promoting two different brewery products. 1960s. Hand-cut 10.5x19.5" vellum sheet w/attached paper backing features mixed media original art depicting bottles of Ballantine "Cold Beer" in ice-filled barrel. Vertical fold at center and tiny edge nick to one bottlecap, o/w VF. 15.5x20.25" artboard features tempera art showing Piels Beer advertising character Bert and Harry w/"Meet A Real Guy... Who Knows Real Beer w/square at center for placement of reflective "mirror" material over large "Piels... Of Course" text at bottom. Margins have glue staining, but art area remains clean and Exc. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
