Item Description
Large 17-3/8x24.5" artboard has pen and ink original art for page 27 of Tarzan #13, published by Dell Jan.-Feb. 1950. Art is from The Ape-Hunter story and is by Jesse Marsh (1907-1966), who illustrated nearly two decades' worth of Tarzan comic book adventures. Artboard features six panels, showing Tarzan confronting poacher, who informs the King of the Apes of his plan to capture a pair of young gorillas. Tarzan orders him our of the jungle, causing the poacher to promptly knock Tarzan unconscious and tie him up. Tarzan appears in every panel. Title and issue/page number have been hand-lettered at lower left margin. Some lt. even aging, w/tiny spot of staining to last panel along w/smudge of staining at lower right margin, but art is o/w clean and Exc. Bill Kamper Tarzan Collection.
