Item Description
14.25x21.25" large art board is the first of a five page Chapter 2 story "The Mystery Of Flash's Third Identity" from The Flash Vol. 1 #141 page 11, December 1963. This five panel page and the following four pages being offered comprise the entire Chapter 2 story. Story was written by John Broome. Graphite pencil art by Carmine Infantino (1925-2013) w/inks by Joe Giella. Brief story synopsis has the Flash, on the trail of the Top, coming across a tailor (Paul Gambi) who makes costumes for super-heroes and is lured into a trap that ultimately backfires. Page depicts the Top fleeing a museum w/a stolen statue and being spotted by the Flash. The Top spins his top at Flash creating four replica images fleeing in different directions and him trying to grab the first false image of the Top. Stat at top of page with logos but title strip w/Flash profile is original art. Larger artboard has some lt. margin handling/dust soiling but art remains clean. A patch cut-in of type in last panel word balloon has come detached and lost at some point. VF. A great page w/Flash and the Top in all panels. See next four lots for your opportunity to own the whole chapter.
