Item Description
Pair of blank-backed cover proofs, measuring approx. 14.25x22" and featuring superb wrap-around superheroes design by noted comic book artist Jim Steranko. Characters shown include - Superman, Batman, Human Torch, Spider-Man, Captain America, The Shadow, The Spirit, Wonder Woman, Nick Fury, Plastic Man, Uncle Sam and many more. First volume (©1970) and second (©1972) were published by Steranko's company Supergraphics. Both have been signed in black felt tip pen by Steranko, personalized "To My Pal Chip" and "To Chip - Regards." Neither has been folded. Scattered handling wear to margins and corner tips, w/.25" at center left margin of both, one showing more moderate wear at this area. Fine to VF. From the collection of Chip Kidd, renowned author, graphic designer and pop culture enthusiast extraordinaire.
