Item Description
5.5x6-3/8" hand-inked and painted image area depicting Stan Laurel from the waist up and has been matted to 5-7/8x7". Stan Laurel joined Oliver Hardy as one of many Hollywood celebrities that appeared in the 1938 animated short film produced by Walt Disney Productions and distributed by RKO Radio Pictures. The film parodies several Mother Goose nursery rhymes using caricatures of popular Hollywood film stars of the 1930s and was nominated for an Academy Award. Cel was originally sold by Courvoisier Galleries, c. 1938. Cel has been taped (easily removed) to bkg. under mat (which has recreated handwritten Courvoisier text). Cel is complete and Exc. Ready for framing and display. Cels from this short are incredibly difficult to locate and are in high demand. Rare.
