Item Description
14.5x22" comic artboard has pencil original art by John Byrne and inks Joe Sinnott. Published by Marvel February 1986. Art is for Fantastic Four #287 page 15 from the story "Prisoner Of The Flesh". Six panel page features Dr. Doom (later revealed as a Doom-bot) trying to blast an invisible Susan Richards (Invisible Woman) who destroys what is shown to be a Doom-bot. Final panel shows a now tangible Susan Richards. Signed in panel by John Byrne. Story synopsis: Disguised as Invincible Man, Doctor Doom infiltrates the Latverian Embassy in New York. He explains how he survived the battle with Tyros (in FF #260) by taking over Peggy McArthur's husband's body. Artboard has some lt. aging/handling wear, tiny tack holes in top corners, line of white-out along left center panel edge covering instruction to "Color Doom's eye holes red" and tape over page number at bottom. Issue title stamped and identification in pencil/pen in top margin. Back has bonus of three different penciled Fantastic Four logos, two pencil roughed heads and signed nicely by legendary inker Joe Sinnott (1926-2020) in pen. Art is clean and Exc. Great action page w/dynamic full face shot of Doom by two of the Fantastic Four's best artists.
