Item Description
Well designed die-cut cardboard standee depicts popular 1930s ventriloquist dummy Charlie McCarthy and acts as shelf sitter/counter display, designed to have front legs hang down over shelf/counter. 24" tall when seated. c. 1930s. Front portion is attached to 2.5" deep recessed area that forms the rest of the body. Standee back allows Charlie to sit upright for display. Recessed area is deep enough for a bag of coffee to be displayed in his lap. The coffee bag seen under his arm can be folded back and replaced w/product bag if desired. Additional sign at shoulder provides unused pricing area w/sign within a sign promoting Chase and Sanborn Hour radio show. Top third of display has moderate creasing w/heavy creases to arm draped over coffee bag and across face. Displays Fine. Rare and the only example we know of or have seen in our 54 years.
