Item Description
Nice quality matte contains 6.25x18-7/8" thin artboard w/India ink original art (w/screentone accents) by Blondie creator Chic Young (1901-1973). Art is for Aug. 14, 1946 and features four panels, w/Cookie asking her father Dagwood for a dollar. After being told children should only ask for a penny at a time, Cookie asks Blondie how many pennies are in a dollar, returning to make funny remark to Dagwood. Cookie and Daisy appear in every panel, Dagwood appears in three and Blondie appears in second panel. Young has signed and dated last panel. Third panel has KFS copyright strip. Back has "The Hard Way" title in blue pencil and printer inkstamp. Most screentone has yellowed w/age (Aside from screentone on Dagwood's chair). Some small scattered spots of staining and scattered margin dust soiling. Fine/VF overall but would make for nice framed display. Comes w/vintage newspaper clipping.
