Item Description
Pair of approx. 11x16.5" artboards feature pen and ink original art for pages 8 and 9 from second issue of short-lived Marvel New Universe series Spitfire And The Troubleshooters. Art is by Herb Trimpe (1939-2015), best known as the seminal 1970s artist on The Incredible Hulk and as the first artist to draw for publication the character of Wolverine. Art was inked by Bob McLeod. Page 8 features five panels and page 9 features six panels and shows Troubleshooter Eduardo "Eddie" Giotti showing off large robotic "Strong-Arms." Dialogue balloons are cut-out paste-overs w/hand-lettered text. These show varying degrees of aging/glue staining and each time the "Strong-Arms" hands are shown, they have been redrawn on paste-overs. All original art. Top margins of each artboard has uneven trim, partially removing stamped title from top of page 8, but both have handwritten title and issue/page numbers. Aside from aging to dialogue balloons art remains clean and Exc. Bottom margin of each has been signed in black ink by McLeod.
