Item Description
15x22-1/8" artboard features pen and ink art for page 12 of Indians #2, published by Fiction House 1950. Art is by Lee Elias (1920-1998), a comics artist best known for his work on the Black Cat comic book published by Harvey Comics during the 1940s. Art is for Manzar The White Indian and features six panels, showing Native American ambush of covered wagon led by renegade Ogala Sioux dressed in US Cavalry uniform. Fourth and fifth panels show Dakota Sioux warrior jumping on and attacking renegade leader. Top margin has printed "Fiction House, Inc." name and inked title and issue/page numbers. Bottom margin has repeated information in grease pencil in provided spots. Scattered margin editorial notations. First panel has missing caption paste-over w/glue staining and has had text penciled in. Bottom corners missing 3/8" and 75" corner tips. Some scattered staining/dust soiling. Art remains VF overall.
