Item Description
6.75x20" artboard features pen and ink original art by noted cartoonist Rube Goldberg (1883-1970). Art features two panels, showing bridge game w/"The Thinker" taking a long period of time to play his cards, much to the chagrin of his fellow bridge players. "This Poor Fish Makes Bridge An Endurance Contest" as noted in Goldberg's handwritten script below art. Goldberg has signed at bottom right of main panel. Second panel features Foolish Questions "No. 29,400" companion gag panel, showing man dealing cards, only to be asked obvious question by observer, to which he sassily replies "No Grandpa, My Guests Brought Some Cheese And I'm Passing Around The Crackers." Artboard has inked March 3 date at bottom right and art was published in 1922. Pin holes along top margin w/staple holes at bottom left/right center margin and at corners. Top half of artboard has obvious staining/soiling and is VG overall.
