Item Description
Approx. 7.25x21" artboard features pen and ink original art by noted cartoonist Rube Goldberg (1883-1970). Art features two panels, showing man sweating profusely after dancing an energetic Fox-Trot w/"The Three-Hundred Pound Wife Of A Good Customer" only to observe the band getting ready to play an encore, deemed "One Of Life's Worst Predicaments" as noted in Goldberg's handwritten script below art. Goldberg has signed at bottom right of main panel. Small inset panel at lower right features large woman claiming " I Weigh 124 Pounds" to which man replies "Some Boloney!" Artboard has inked date at bottom right and McNaught Syndicate copyright strip at lower left. Pin holes at corners and top/bottom center margins w/uneven top margin as cut. Top corners exhibit foxing and artboard has scattered moisture staining, most prominent at right, covering top half of musicians in main panel and about half of the smaller inset panel. Margins have some scattered staining as does back (but this does not show through onto front). VG/Fine overall.
