15x19-5/8" heavy Whatman's Drawing Paper artboard features mixed media original art for cover to Yogi Bear #11, where it was used as front and back covers for Gold Key comic published Jan. 1963. Art is attributed to Harvey Eisenberg and Norm McGary. This Christmas issue features great image of Yogi Bear in Santa Claus suit and hat, eating a candy cane while dragging Christmas tree decorated w/gingerbread cookies, candy canes and other goodies. Two inset scenes show Boo-Boo and Ranger Smith decorating tree, w/second scene showing Yogi peeking around tree trunk while licking his lips, plotting to steal said tree. Hand-lettered "Merry Christmas" text on tree ribbon. Bottom right has hand-lettered title, issue number and job number in black ink. Art area is surrounded by printer labels and shows some scattered wear. Artboard has corner tip wear and staple holes across top/bottom margins and is Fine overall. Art could be matted and framed for VF display. Comes w/reading copy of the comic this art was published in. Gold Key Hanna-Barbera cover art rarely comes up for auction and this is an exceptional example.
