Item Description
Pair of 10.75x14-1/8" Crescent Illustration Boards features pen and ink original art (w/screentone accents) by Gilbert Shelton, a cartoonist and a key member of the Underground Comix movement. Shelton was the creator of the iconic Underground characters The Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, Fat Freddy's Cat and Wonder Wart-Hog. This original art is for complete two-page The Adventures Of Bull O'Fuzz story published in DRAG Cartoons #41 in July 1967. Story has Bull O'Fuzz be assigned to lead governor's motorcycle parade, only for heavy smog to cover the parade, causing the governor to get lost. After two days, it's revealed he got behind the wrong group of motorcycles and ended up in Bakersfield w/the Hell's Angels. First artboard has uneven right margin trim and both has page numbers/editorial notations at lower right. Art remains clean and Exc. Backs of each artboard has Shelton's personal inkstamp. From the Archives of Publisher Pete Millar.
