Item Description
8-1/8x19.75" artboard has pen and ink original art by Buster Brown creator R.F. Outcault (1863-1928) from the 1910s. Buster Brown Sunday pages were produced both w/and w/o topper panels depending on the publication. This topper features great expressive panel of Buster and Tige hiding out w/Mary Jane, who reads from "Everything Illustrated" as Mother's foot appears in open door, the tip of a fresh switch appearing as Buster decried "I Wonder Why They Think I'm A Bad Boy." Secondary panel shows "Tige's Room - By Himself - All By Himself," w/Tige asleep in bed, a pair of pants discarded on the floor, his collar on the nightstand beside him and a portrait of "Grandpa" on the wall. Pin holes along left/right margins and below art, w/.5" pull at left center. Margins exhibit some scattered dust soiling but art remains clean and Exc.
