Item Description
5-7/8x14.25" artboard has pen and ink original art for unpublished 1940s "All Star Comics" comic story featuring the Golden Age Green Lantern. Partial page unpublished story features two panels, showing Green Lantern confronting villain of the story - Dr. Cypher - and ripping off bandage on the man's face he was using to hide a stain that gave away his identity. Illustrated by Paul Reinman (1910-1988), an American comic book artist best known as one of Jack Kirby's frequent inkers during the Silver Age. Green Lantern appears in both panels, w/second panel providing great look at his iconic costume. Two strips of lt. surface paper lifting to center left/right margins from tape removal w/tape remnants on back, but artboard remains clean and art displays Exc. It appears likely that art is among the partial-page Golden Age original art that was saved from oblivion by DC interns during the 1970s. Dan Makara Collection.
