Item Description
5.75x20" thin art board has India ink original art by Dick Calkins, the first artist to draw the "Buck Rogers" comic strip. 1940s. Art features four panels, showing Buck Rogers and Wilma Deering stumbling upon guardroom, where they overhear two guards discussing having stolen the C-Ray Formula and their upcoming escape. Buck and Wilma appear in first and last panels, last panel having been signed in ink by Calkins. Each panel has screentone accents, some of which have aged. Last panel has word balloon paste-over for Buck and Buck image has some scattered staining/aging. Faint editorial notations at right margin and along bottom margin. Artboard has vertical fold at center and pin holes at top corners. Artboard has scattered dust soiling and is VG overall.
