Item Description
Approx. 3.5x4.75" Bristol board has gouache over graphite original art for card #19 in Topps' 1966 "Batman" trading card set (Black Bat). Pencil original art by Bob Powell has been painted over by Norman Saunders, who provided art for a few Topps card sets, most notably their collaboration on the iconic "Mars Attacks" cards in 1962. Card is titled "Fiery Encounter" and features Robin ducking as The Penguin uses his flamethrower umbrella. Incredibly detailed, art also features some bkg. components of Penguin's submarine. Back of board has large amount of scrapbook page residue and four pieces of cloth tape; two at top (w/additional clear tape); two at bottom. Art remains clean and Exc. Wonderful example of published Topps card art.
