Item Description
13-5/8x20" artboard has pen and ink original art by Don Heck for page 28 of "Tales To Astonish" #13, published by Marvel Nov. 1960. That issued introduced popular "Guardians Of The Galaxy" character Groot. Page offered here features eight panels from "I Found The Hidden World" story, showing man released from prison visiting cellmate w/vengeance on his mind. The "Fink" works at a TV repair shop and the would-be assassin turns on a TV to drown out the noise of gunfire, only for the other man to react in shock at the arms coming out of the set to grab the gunman, whom he tries to warn, but he isn't believed. Top margin has handwritten "Astonish" title and issue/page numbers, page number repeated in black marker at lower right. Back has Comics Code Authority inkstamp. Artboard has some minor rippling at lower right and corner tip wear but art remains clean and displays Exc.
