Item Description
Leather A/2 flight jacket worn by a member of 8th Army Air Force bomber crew. 1940s. Back is decorated w/"Hells Angels" text over a large "8." Front has sewn on 5.25" dia. embroidered patch showing crew member w/angel's halo looking down from clouds while wearing flight jacket and about to drop a large bomb. Patch was made in England for American crew. Jacket leather shows moderate scattered wear in the form of scuffs to back image and some surface flaking to leather, one sleeve has 1" tear along seam, not offensive. Elastic band at bottom shows little wear but cuff elastics show heavy wear. Size is unknown as jacket was relined at some point, covering up label. VG/Fine overall. A prime example of a World War II flight jacket.
