13.5x19.5" artboard has pen and ink original art by Jack Kirby (inked by Dick Ayers) for page 16 of "Journey Into Mystery" #72, published by Marvel Sept. 1961. Art is from last page of "The Glob!" cover story and features six panels showing The Glob in statue form, the paint that gave the alien advance scout life no longer covering it. Angry villagers can be seen advancing on the castle w/pitchforks, torches and dynamite, causing the painter and another man to flee the castle just before it is destroyed. They fly off in a plane in last panel. Top margin has abbreviated "J. Into Mys." title and issue/page number in black ink. Kirby has signed in black felt tip pen at lower right. Two aged strips of tape on back along w/partial detailed face sketches. Artboard has some lt. handling wear, but art remains clean and Exc.
