Item Description
Ferdinand Horvath (1891-1973) was a story sketch artist at Disney from 1934 to 1937 who brought a European style to Disney's animated projects, working on many Disney shorts and doing preliminary work on "Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs." Offered here is a 10x12" sheet of artpaper w/pencil and watercolor original art depicting Horvath's concept of Merbabies playing w/jellyfish from Disney's 1938 Silly Symphony "Merbabies." Image area measures 5-7/8x7-7/8". Signed by Horvath at lower right. Two pegholes were added at left, as likely kept in Horvath's work binder. Sheet has some handling wear and even aging w/strip of darker aging along extreme top margin. Bottom margin has .25" chip. Art remains clean and Exc. Extremely detailed art.
