Item Description
10-5/8x16" artboard has pencil original art by Rich Buckler and John Buscema that has been inked by Dan Adkins. Art is for page 22 of "Astonishing Tales" #13, published by Marvel Aug. 1972. Page features seven panels, showing Ka-Zar battling AIM henchman in jungle setting. Ka-Zar debates toying w/the man like he would wild prey, but realizes a woman's life is at stake (as well as that of Ted Sallis, the Man-Thing). Ka-Zar appears in every panel. Top margin has inked title and issue/page numbers and has been signed in black felt tip pen by Buscema. Bottom right has pasted continuance strip. Back has Comics Code Authority inkstamp. Scattered faint scattered margin staining. Top center margin has aged strip of tape. Artboard is Fine overall, but art for the most part remains clean and VF. Privately held since shortly after publication, this is the first time this art has been offered at auction. From the Aaron Goodman Collection, Grandson of Martin Goodman, Founder of Marvel Comics.
