Item Description
Approx. 10-7/8x16-1/8" artboard has pencil original art by Frank Springer (ghosting as Bob Kane) that has been inked by Sid Greene. Art is for page 22 of "Batman" #197, published by DC Comics Dec. 1967. Page features five panels, w/top splash panel showing Batman and Robin punching out three men. Next panel shows Batgirl helping up Catwoman, who asks how Batman escaped her "Escape-Proof Sound-Trap" to which he replies that Batgirl hypnotized him w/her glove, allowing him to escape. Batman appears (or appears partially) in all but one panel. Robin appears in two panels. Batgirl appears in four panels while Catwoman appears in just one panel. Top margin has inked title and issue/page numbers. Bottom left has Springer's facsimile Bob Kane signature. Back has Comics Code Authority inkstamp. Margins have two thins strips of aged white tape covering some editorial notations in margins and corners each have hole punches and margins have slight trim, but art remains clean and Exc. Great Silver Age "Batman" comic art.
