Item Description
12x19" thin artboard has pen and ink original art by Mike Allred for "Madman" #3, published by Tundra Publishing Ltd. May 1992. This was Madman's first miniseries. Page features six panels, showing Madman is full mask swinging from top of circus big top, bouncing out safety net and running past human cannonball's cannon before stopping in front of group of circus clowns, a lightbulb turning on over his head. Madman appears in all panels. Lower left of artboard has small applied full body stat of Madman, as the comic featured flip-action comics in the page corners. Printer registration marks at corners. Aged strips of tape along top margin, but art remains clean and Exc. Comes w/accompanying 12.5x18.25" artboard w/attached sheet of vellum w/Allred's hand-inked shadows and accents for the page, including outline of Madman in first two panels. Bottom of sheet has visual sound effects stat sheet tapes above Allred's pencil signature. Tape at top is aged and artboard has some corner tip wear, but o/w inked art is clean and Exc. Nice early example of "Madman" art by his creator.
