Item Description
7-5/8x26.5" artboard w/pen and ink original art by "Red Ryder" creator Fred Harman. Art is for July 27, 1940 and features three panels, showing stick-up of stagecoach by hooded bandits. Last panel reveals Red Ryder has overpowered the bandits' leader. Harman has signed third panel, which also has NEA Service, Inc. copyright strip. Artboard has penciled "A Surprise Waiting" title at top and blue pencil date at upper right margin. Artboard has vertical fold at center w/pin holes at top corners. Moderate margin aging w/heavy aging along vertical fold (w/darker aging on back), which slightly affect edges of first and second panels. .Vertical 75" split at top center. Fine overall while art is VF.
