Item Description
Large 22.75x48.25" frame contains six sequential "Terry And The Pirates" daily strips. Each features three panels of pen and ink original art by The Brothers Hildebrandt. The original "Terry And The Pirates" comic strip debuted in Oct. 1934 and ran until Feb. 1973 before being revived on March 26, 1995 by The Brothers Hildebrandt, who provided art for the updated version under the direction of Michael Uslan. The Hildebrandt/Uslan team left the strip and was replaced on April 1, 1996. The strip ended on July 27, 1997. Strips deal w/Pat Ryan being captured by The Dragon Lady and her cohort Big Stoop. Dragon Lady appears in 14 panels, Big Stoop in eight. Each strip has handwritten day and "Wk 4" notation in pencil at bottom center margin. Bottom margin of each strip has also been boldly signed in pencil by Tim Hildebrandt (1939-2006) at left and Greg Hildebrandt at right. Exc. and makes for nice display as framed.
