Item Description
17.25x21-7/8" sheet of textured artpaper has extremely detailed acrylic painting original art by Ken Barr (1933-2016), depicting Dorothy (and Toto) w/the Tin Man, Scarecrow and Cowardly Lion, who kneels on the yellow brick road, grasping his tail and sobbing. All are depicted as they appeared in the classic 1939 MGM film and all have looks of apprehension on their faces. Art was created in the 1970s by Barr, who drew and painted Marvel and DC Comics as well as magazines, sci-fi and fantasy novel/magazine covers. This art was used for a book cover, poster and trading card. Barr has signed at lower right. Painting has thin vellum overlay attached at top. Margins of art have some small scattered spots of paint lifting, but these could be easily matted out for an Exc. display.
