Item Description
11.5x16-3/8" thin artboard features Sal Amendola's pen and ink original art for title splash page to John Carter of Mars "Deathknell" story. Art features John Carter leaning over taffrail of ship w/Tars Tarkas and Thuvia as she warns of an approaching Black Pirate sneaking up on Carter. Large hand-lettered "Deathknell" title at top shows image of ship sailing through the sky. Inked title and issue number at top margin. Left margin has various blue marker production notations. Aged strip of tape at bottom margin and margins show age and dust soiling. Majority of art remains clean and VF overall.
