Item Description
11.5x16.5" DC Comics artboard has pen and ink original art for page 21 of "Batman" #498, published by DC Aug. 1993. Page features four panels by longtime 1970s and 1980s Batman artist Jim Aparo (1932-2005) w/inks by Rick Burchett. Art shows Commissioner Gordon waiting by batsignal. Second splash panel features Robin (Tim Drake) swinging through the air w/Batman (in reality Jean-Paul Valley, who took over the role after Bruce Wayne's back was broken by Bane during the "Knightfall" storyline). Robin advises Jean-Paul to "Stick To The Shadows And Put On That Hoarse, Grating Voice Bruce Uses" in order to fool Gordon. They arrive on the rooftop Gordon has been waiting on, where Batman then swears vengeance on Bane. Top margin has inked "Batman" title and issue/page numbers. Lower left margin has penciled editorial notation. Pegholes at left/right center margins. Artboard has some lt. handling wear but art remains clean and Exc.
