Item Description
15 items in total. Originally designed as a premium for Pepsodent, it was then altered for Rinso. There are four typed sheets dated 1936 w/very detailed information on this promotion, written by Ira Gold to Stuart Sherman of Pepsodent. Sheets are fragile w/margin chipping and tears but all text is complete and very interesting. Good. Next is a lager paper sheet, 17x22, with original art done in pencil  showing an early design of the puppet stage setup featuring Amos & Andy characters. Folds but Exc. Next two pieces are the stage sections, each 9x12". These are actually from the 1936 "Scrappy" puppet theater and have been customized w/added images of Amos & Andy and hand done text painted accents for the "Rinso" proposal. Next are six original art prototype puppets. Hand-cut cardboard w/art in colored pencil and tempura paint. These are Andy (3 different), Amos, Ruby and King-Fish. Great design and detail. All theater/puppet pieces are Fine to Exc. Next is 8x10" glossy bw promo photo showing the exact same prototype pieces included in this lot. This is a studio shot of the stage set up used. Final item is large env. used to house all of these items w/hand written notation by Sam Gold covering most of front surface. An incredibly unique lot, one of the best prototypes we've offered from the Gold archives and for one of the most popular radio programs of all time. From the archives of premium creators Sam & Gordon Gold and comes with LOA.
