Item Description
6-7/8x22.5" artboard has Al Capp's pencil and ink original art for March 21, 1949 daily strip. Strip features three panels, w/Daisy Mae and Abner walking along city sidewalk w/his invisible "Li'l Friend" who gooses woman wearing fur coat. She assumes it was Abner, socking him w/her purse shouting "You Beast!!" Daisy rushes to Abner's defense and she and Abner try to explain their invisible friend. Capp has signed second panel, which also has UFS copyright paste-over. Top left margin has penciled "A Kiss In The Dark!!" title w/title repeated on back of artboard in blue pencil. Margins have some aging and scattered wear. First panel has small spot of faint staining to Abner's word balloon but o/w art remains clean and VF/Exc. overall. Ready for framing.
