Item Description
18.5x25" first printing poster for the inaugural Texas International Pop Festival, which took place Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 30-31 and Sept. 1, 1969 (just two weeks after Woodstock) at the Dallas International Speedway in Lewisville, TX featuring Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, Ten Years After, Johnny Winter and Sam & Dave. Art by Lance Bragg features hand giving the Peace sign, flanked by a wreath, which has topless women at the bottom left/right. It's worth noting that this poster was printed twice before the shows, and this poster is from the first printing, which has the original scheduled line-up (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young canceled because they were unhappy w/their performance at Woodstock) and it also contains two spelling errors - "Increible" and "Zepplin" - that were corrected on the next printing. Poster has been rolled and has scattered handling wear w/more moderate wear along bottom margin and at lower right corner. Right margin has faint 4" wide dust shadow. Poster o/w remains bright and clean. Displays Fine/VF. Rare.
