Item Description
Lot of four approx. 8.25x23" artboards w/pen and ink original art w/blue pencil shading and screentone accents. All strips are from May/June 1943. First strip begins "The Sheriff's Tale" storyline as noted at top margin and is dated May 24. Second strip is dated May 26 and both show Lone Ranger and Tonto arriving in town at the Sheriff's request, only for the Sheriff to try to put Lone Ranger in jail. He fights his way out and shouts for Silver in last panel of second strip. Later strip shows group of men attempting to throw Lone Ranger in jail, before Lone Ranger fights back and subdues them w/the help of Tonto, who arrives in second strip. Strips are dated June 24-25. Last strip has been signed by Charles Flanders and all have KFS copyright strip paste-overs. Each also has strip title handwritten in blue pencil on backs. Scattered wear w/some loose and missing screentone pieces w/glue staining at these areas. Fine to VF overall.
